Copper Creek Builders is a family-run operation. Silas, one of our co-owners, does most of the land acquisition and land development for the company. Chris, our other co-owner, is more in charge of the on-site management. In this video, Silas gives his opinion on the question, "Should you buy a home right now?"

Screen Shot 2022-04-12 at 8.30.08 PM Currently, in the housing market, we are seeing housing prices go way up and rates drop pretty low. For the most part, the two big options for housing are buying or renting. There are very few signs right now that point to a decrease in housing prices any time soon. This is mainly due to the fact that construction material prices have increased significantly. This has caused builders to have a very limited inventory. A "healthy market" would be having approximately six months of inventory, and in most cases right now the average is one to two months of inventory. Silas says his choice would be buying a home because you can get a fixed-rate mortgage so your housing costs are fixed for the next 30 years. Rentals are in short supply too, so the prices for rental properties are also increasing significantly. Buying a home allows you to have fixed costs and gain equity, whereas your rent would likely increase every 12 months as the renewal comes around.
