KKCO Projected Population in GJ Colorado

Grand Junction's own Channels 11 and 8, KKCO News recently stopped by Copper Creek to see how much the housing industry is being impacted by population growth in the Grand Valley.

There are other people out there who have the data to forecast population growth, but I can say that we are seeing a increase in demand for new construction in our newest Pocket Neighborhood, Copper Creek North.

The strength of the national housing market and especially the Denver market has always lifted Grand Junction’s local market and I believe that’s currently playing a role. Right now many homeowners can sell a used home in Denver for $600,000+ and walk away $300,000 in equity. They can then take that money, come to Grand Junction and buy a brand new home for $300,000 -- and pay for it all in cash! This windfall can really help stretch their retirement savings and at the same time provide a higher quality of life. Arguably, almost anyone living in Grand Junction feels that this a great place to live for many reasons, including its proximity to outdoor activities, high quality health care, low cost of living and its absence of rush hour traffic!

Our sales in Copper Creek North are actually a mix of out of town buyers and local buyers, many of whom are downsizing from larger properties and looking for a “lock-and-leave” lifestyle so they can spend more time enjoying the outdoors and less time mowing lawns and fixing things around the house!

Regardless of where our buyers are coming from and why they’re coming, we are happy to help them find their new home in a Copper Creek community!

Copper Creek North is Grand Junction’s newest walk-able community with uniquely designed homes that surround a network of pocket parks, connected by pedestrian friendly walking paths and anchored by a community center. The result is a connected community that gives residents more opportunities to get outside and to interact with other people.
